Let Your Mattress Breath

Your new mattress may give off an odour after it is unpacked. Don’t worry – it is totally safe and the odour will disappear over time. A well-ventilated room will help quicken this process A bit of fresh air does the trick!

Allow time for your body to adjust to your new mattress as it may feel a little strange at first. Chances are the springs and fillings in your old mattress were not what they used to be resulting in a different feel to your mattress.

Colour

The core may become discoloured over a period of time. Please be assured that this is a reaction caused by sunlight or UV from electric lights and in no way affects the support or physical structure of the mattress.

Washing

The core of the mattress cannot be washed or dry-cleaned. If the mattress becomes soiled, spot clean with warm water and a mild detergent only. Allow the mattress to air dry out of direct sunlight.

Settlement

Over time, your body will create a natural impression in the high quality mattress core. This is known as settlement and is perfectly normal.

Give it good support

Be sure to use a sturdy, high-quality bed frame. If it’s a queen or king size set, make sure your frame has the strong center support and centre support legs that will prevent the mattress from bowing or dipping in the middle. Also a good ensemble base is fine to put your new mattress onto.

Rotate your mattress regularly once a week for the first two or three months and monthly thereafter. When turning your mattress it is very important to never lift from the bottom edge of it (Taped Edge) or it could tear the mattress and this would invalidate your Guarantee. Lift by putting your hand underneath the mattress to give it adequate support when turning.

Don’t walk or jump on your mattress or let children use the mattress as a trampoline. Your new mattress is designed for sleeping on only, any misuse could result in damage to the interior construction and will invalidate your warranty.

Don’t sit on the edge of your mattress. It is designed to spread your weight over a wide area and could be damaged if weight is concentrated in one small area for long periods of time.
